After receiving special dispensation from Queen Elizabeth II, the head of the Church of England, Most Revd Dr John Sentamu has now visited more than a hundred schools, nearly 500 churches and more than twenty hospitals and hospices across the Diocese of York.
Most Revd Dr Sentamu's pilgrimage has taken 122 days, however he is yet to reveal exactly how many miles he's tracked. He's been recording them on an iPhone app and is set to release them in the next few days.
His pilgrimage has also included impromptu baptisms (below), blessings, prayer and conversations about topical issues such as the European Union referendum and same-sex marriage.

It ended with a service at York Minster on Sunday, where 22 new priests were ordained.
Mr Sentamu before his pilgrimage: "As I have prayed and waited on God, I have been inspired by the great Northern Saints, such as Aidan, Cuthbert, and Hilda who took to the road to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ.
"To those of you who will be providing hospitality of sanctuary and refectory, I want to say a huge thank you.
"As we meet and pray together, I pray that we may be a mutual blessing one to another.
"But the sanctuary and the refectory are only part of the story. We must also get out on the road!
"We are a Church on the road in mission ready to make Christ known in word and deed."
