The Liberal Democrat Christian Forum (LDCF) spoke ahead of a debate on Saturday for a homelessness policy motion its members were involved in drafting.
Explaining what they hoped to acheive, director Sarah Dickson told Premier Christian Radio: "Hopefully, if we pass this motion, we can start a campaign in the Houses of Parliament to bring it to the fore that homelessnes is an issue that needs to be tackled urgently.
"It needs provision from central government to local authorities to enable them to better prevent it and respond to it."
Meanwhile, Lib Dem leader Tim Farron (pictured below) is expected to use a speech on the conference to speak about Diane James, who was yesterday announced as the new leader of Ukip after Nigel Farage quit.
The LDCF will be joining the president of the Liberal Democrats, Baroness Sal Brinton, on Tuesday morning for a prayer breakfast.
Speaking about the importance of prayer, Sarah Dickson said: "We really love to cement everything that we do in prayer because, without the power of prayer, what we do is unsuccessful. We just want to make sure that all we do is rooted in God."
Former health minister Norman Lamb will unveil plans at the party conference for an expert panel to consider the idea of a wage levy to finance the NHS, which will report back in six months' time.
He will say: "Let's look at the case for a dedicated health and care tax, shown on your pay packet. Let's look at whether we could use National Insurance as a basis for such a tax. We need to consider how we could make it more progressive. We need to think about fairness between generations.
"We must be honest with the British people. If we conclude that we all need to pay perhaps an extra penny in the pound then we must be prepared to say it."
Talking about the party's prospects, Sarah Dickson went on to say: "As much as everything seems a bit crazy in the political sphere at the moment and nobody know what's happening from one day to the next, the Lib Dems are making real ground.
"We're winning local council by-elections every week so, actually, it's a really, really good mood at conference so far."
