The Foxes only just managed to avoid relegation last season and their manager Claudio Ranieri famously said before the beginning of this footballing season that the club was simply looking to to stay up in top flight football.
The club is now in for a windfall of around £100m and has already booked a placed in the European Champions League, one of the highest level international tournaments in world football.
Christians of all footballing allegiances and none in particular celebrated Leicester's win on Twitter, which has been touted as one of the greatest underdog sporting achievements in history.
Worship leader and pastor Tim Hughes shared this thoughts after second-placed Tottenham failed to keep up with the Foxes after they only managed a draw with Chelsea last night:

Comedian and Christian Tim Vine was also elated:

The pastor of Soul Survivor Watford Mike Pilavachi saw a bit of the divine in Leicester's win:
Leicester City! Fairytale. You don't have to be the most expensive or most talented. Work hard and above all work as a team. Miracles happen

And John and Ele Mumford, the current leaders of Vineyard Church, were also happy the little man won:
Ridiculously excited about Leicester's fairytale winning of the league. 5000 to 1 indeed! The triumph of the underdog is very attractive !

Jonny Reed, from Christians in Sport, told Premier: "It's helpful for a sport like football which has probably been mired with a bit of controversy... to break away particularly from the dominance of finance, the dominance of money, if you have the bigger salaries, if you have the biggest budgets then you win.
"It's amazing to see a team with the fourth-smallest budget in the Premier League win.
"It's an amazing opportunity for Christians and for the Church with sport, just to gather people together into community to give them an opportunity to hear about the good news of Jesus.
"Sport does bring people together in a way that little else can."
