Seventy-six year old Colman McGrath, abused two trainee priests and another boy in his parish between 1972 and 1982.
A judge at Glasgow Sheriff Court has ordered McGrath to carry out 200 hours unpaid work as part of a community payback order. He has also been placed on the sex offenders' register.
Speaking after sentencing, a Church spokesman said: "The Archdiocese of Glasgow wishes to apologise to the victims of Father Colman McGrath.
"When the allegations were brought to his attention, Archbishop Tartaglia took steps to ensure that the police were informed.
"These allegations led to Colman McGrath's eventual arrest, prosecution and conviction. The Archdiocese has cooperated fully with Police Scotland throughout the investigation.
"We are grateful to those affected for coming forward and would encourage anyone else with concerns relating to child protection issues to contact ourselves and the police.
"There can be no place in the Church for abuse of children and we are determined to root out this evil no matter how long ago it occurred."
Colman McGrath worked as a parish priest in Glasgow and Aberdeen as well as teaching at Blairs College, where men studied for the priesthood.
