Church condemns Richard III reburial profiteers

It has been revealed orders of service for the event which was held at Leicester Cathedral last week are being sold online for hundreds of pounds.

Dozens of booklets are being put up for auction on website eBay for as much as £300 plus postage and packaging.

Very Revd David Monteith, Dean of Leicester, said it was "very sad" some people were trying to make money from a church funeral.

He said people could buy the order of service direct from the cathedral and that the money spent would be used to help the church pay for the £2.5 million event.

"We've noticed that service booklets from the cathedral's services are being sold for extortionate prices on eBay, presumably by those who attended the services," he said.

"This is very sad - many would have welcomed being there and keeping this as a souvenir.

"We have had extra copies printed and we are selling a set of all three for £12.50 to cover costs from Christian Resources in St Martin's House, next door to the cathedral."
