After the conga, the children were taken through a basic heart start first aid course using more than 100 mannequins.

Rev Galbraith said: "This is a fun-filled, educational and charitable event that focuses on saving lives and improving the lives of some of the most disadvantaged people in our society.

"The second annual Hampden Conga shows the far-reaching concern Glasgow the Caring City and the Church of Scotland has for community social responsibility, welfare and child poverty."

The minister added the initiative last year - the first event ever held - put more than £10,000 into the hands of local schools.
