Should the Church change its stance on homosexuality?

She says it's something she's battled with since she was 12 but feels it is right to go public now.

In an interview with the Independent she said she wants to help change the Church's attitude towards homosexuality.

Social media has seen many conversations on the topic.

Rt Revd David Gillett is a former Bishop of Bolton.

After changing his own opinion on the issue, he's now calling on the Church to accept homosexuality like it has accepted other issues.

He told Premier: "Some people are born gay and therefore made that way by God.

"Therefore we have to interpret the scriptures in a way, just as we've had to do in relation to women's ministry and in relation to the remarriage of divorced people."

Ed Shaw is from the group Living Out which looks to support Christians who experience same sex attraction.

He told Premier the Bible is very clear on the issue.

He said: "There's a clarity on the issue of whether gay sex is right or wrong throughout scripture at every stage.

"It's one of the building blocks of scripture, that marriage is between a man and a women in a way that isn't the case when it comes to divorce or women in leadership."
