Episcopal Church suspended from full participation in Anglican Communion

In January Anglican Primates suspended The Episcopal Church from full participation in the Anglican Communion for three years.

The decision was made at the Primates meeting in Canterbury where Anglican leaders had gathered to "reflect and pray" about the future of the Communion.

The meeting came about after The Episcopal Church in the United States went against other churches in the Communion by authorising its clergy to perform same sex marriages in July 2015.

New Wine leader Mark Bailey steps down following clergy discipline measure

In February the leader of the New Wine network of churches resigned from the post following a matter being considered under the Clergy Discipline Measure.

Mark Bailey also stepped back from his ministry as Team Rector of Trinity Cheltenham.

In a statement on the New Wine website, the trustees said it was with the "greatest sadness and regret" that they had to accept his resignation.

Christian man removed from plane for texting about prayer

Back in March we reported on the Christian man who was confronted by armed police whilst sitting on a plane after a fellow passenger reported him for sending a text message about prayer.

Laolu Opebiyi, 40, had to give his phone to officers and leave the Easyjet aircraft at Luton Airport after another man oversaw his WhatsApp message to a chat called "ISI men".

Another passenger reported the incident to cabin crew who called police. Mr Opebiyi, a Nigerian born Christian, was removed and questioned by officers.

He was later cleared by detectives but the pilot refused to wait for him on the flight to Amsterdam.

Rap star Snoop Dogg sings 'I'd rather have Jesus'

It was in April that we told how the US rap star Snoop Dogg posted a video on a social media site of him singing gospel song 'I'd rather have Jesus'.

The song was made famous during Billy Graham's evangelistic rallies by worship leader George Beverly Shae.

Snoop Dogg has given varying responses on the issue of religion when quizzed about his own faith.

He was brought up as a Christian but in a 2003 interview with Associated Press, he said: "As a kid, I was pushed into the Baptist church, taught that way.
