Trafalgar Square hosts Passion of Jesus

by Desmond Busteed

The story commemorating the day Jesus is believed to have been arrested, tried and crucified by the Romans, two days before miraculously rising from the dead on Easter Sunday is brought to life by a cast of over 100 from Wintershall Players, all in "resplendent" costumes, along with horses, doves and donkeys.

Featuring "realistic" scenes and a "heart moving" crucifixion and resurrection, organisers describe the Passion of Jesus as an "unforgettable experience", free of charge.

James Burke Dunsmore, who plays Jesus expects around 20,000 spectators at the event, speaking to Premier, he said: "I'm able to see every single audience members face, and I can see all of their reactions to all of Christ's words and to all his examples that he gives.

"It's quite something to take away with you, it resonates for weeks if not months afterwards."
