Jim Carver said UKIP was the only party to uphold traditional marriage.
"The legacy parties have all legalised gay marriage," he told the News Hour, adding: "We advocate a benign tolerance of Judeo Christian values as a basis for a shared civic space in our country."
UKIP is aiming to pick up more seats at the election on May 7th.
In the last parliament the party had two MPs after the defections of Mark Reckless and Douglas Carswell from the Conservatives.
Mr Carver said: "I am hoping to markedly increase our representation.
"We're appealing to people who have woken up to the fact that the other parties have let them down.
"I am confident we can build on our representation in parliament.
"We will be the party that influences the result of this national election and that's power in itself and maybe that might just make the other parties sit up and realise they can't just keep kicking this issue of EU membership into the long grass."
The candidate for Stourbridge also told Premier he wasn't surprised the Church of England had backed Britain staying in the EU.
"The Church of England has a long history of working closely with the European institutions so that doesn't surprise me at all," he said.
Elsewhere UKIP has said any referendum held on EU membership should not be extended to 16 and 17-year-olds.
The party said teenagers had been exposed to pro EU material.
Deputy chairman Suzanne Evans said: "It's everything there from colouring-in books on the Common Agricultural Policy for primary school children right up to research projects at university level.
"The amount of money that the EU is putting into this propaganda and throughout the entire education system is enormous."
Meanwhile today the Conservatives have hailed the backing of more than 100 senior business leaders as proof their economic plan is working.
But Labour claims it shows the Tories only care about those "at the top".
