The 27-year-old Brit beat the 39-year-old Ukrainian by unanimous decision after 12 energy-sapping rounds.
Mr Fury was the overwhelming underdog leading into the fight, with Wladimir Klitschko being the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World since 2011.
But the Brit had a height, weight and reach advantage over the Ukrainian. Many also felt the 12-year age gap was a major factor in Fury's favour.
He wore a t-shirt after the fight saying "GOD IS ALL THINGS MOST HIGH", and also said on Twitter:
This is how it looks this morning, with God ent thing is possible as it showed last night, in Germany ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ pic.twitter.com/svvL3293nY

To be the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World, a boxer must hold all four belts on offer from the four different boxing organisations: the IBF, the WBA, the WBO and the WBC.
Tyson Fury gained three belts by beating Wladimir Klitschko last night, however American Deontay Wilder still holds the WBC heavyweight belt.
Deontay Wilder made it clear he would be coming for Mr Fury:
I see you @Tyson_Fury.... #ImComingForYou

However some have speculated he could be slightly rattled by the the Brit's shock victory last night:
I'M OFFICIALLY THE BEST HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMP OF THE WORLD! Haters can acknowledge it or look foolish trying to deny it. pic.twitter.com/5XpjDf4o8P

Tyson Fury said after the match: "First of all I'd like to say congratulations to Wladimir and his team.
"But tonight just wasn't his night, and it was my night.
"God gave me the victory tonight so I hope to have many more defences of these titles in the future.
"If I could be half as good a champion of Wladimir Klitschko, I'd be very very happy.
"I came here tonight, took the world title. Whatever happens next is a blessing. The interest in the next fight will be huge."
