Is Justin Bieber starting his own Church?

by Eno Adeogun

The Christian popstar cancelled the remaining 14 dates of his tour without giving his fans - who are known as 'Beliebers', much of an explanation.

Australian entertainment reporter, Richard Wilkins claims that he was told by an unnamed insider that the 23 year old Sorry hitmaker wants to "reconnect with his faith" and possibly start his own church.

Bieber's manager has apologised to fans who will miss out on seeing the popstar.

Scooter Braun posted on Instagram that "a man's soul and well being" come first and that everyone should "respect and honour that".

The singer was due to play dates in the US, Canada and Asia, but pulled out citing "unforeseen circumstances".

Showbiz website TMZ reported the singer decided to pull out of because he's "just over it".

He told the site: "I'm sorry for anybody who feels disappointed or betrayed.

"I have been on tour for two years. I'm looking forward to just resting, getting some relaxation and we're going to ride some bikes."

The singer who has revealed that he prays every night before he goes to sleep, and when he's troubled or thankful, performed more than 150 shows on the tour, promoting his 2015 album Purpose, since March 2016.

The tour grossed $93.2m (£71.5m) in the first half of 2017, with an average of almost 40,000 ticket sales per date.

A statement on Bieber's website read: "Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them.

"However, after careful consideration he has decided he will not be performing any further dates. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase."

Meanwhile, Chinese officials said last week that the Canadian pop star had been banned from mainland China because he had engaged in what they described as "bad behaviour".
