Megachurch pastor stabbed during burglary

Matt Bentley was attacked with a knife on his arms, side and face during the assault at his Charlotte home.

Reports suggest a man was swinging the weapon around as he demanded money and Mr Bentley's phone.

Forest Hill Ballantyne, Mr Bentley's church, said in a statement his injuries were not life threatening.

A spokesman told US station WSOC-TV: "He's being loved on, cared for well and being covered in prayer."

Police have arrested 25-year-old Corey Edgerton in connection with the incident.

He has been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, breaking and entering, assault with serious bodily injury, larceny after breaking/entering, larceny of motor vehicle, possession of stolen goods/property, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, and resisting a public officer.
