Replica Noah's Ark 'takes back rainbow for God'

Ken Ham, the founder of the The Ark Enounter, has stirred up controversy by saying the the park's life-sized replica of Noah's Ark will be permanently covered in rainbow lights.

In a Facebook post, he wrote: "We now have new permanent rainbow lights at the Ark Encounter so all can see that it is God's rainbow and He determines its meaning in Genesis 6."

The rainbow is often used symbolically by gay pride and LGBT communities.

Last year, the park lit up the ark with rainbow lights at Christmas, six months after the park opened.

However, based on some of the replies to his Facebook post, it has not been well received by all.

Michele Bowen Woloszyk wrote, "For crying out loud, no one took your rainbow! Please stop trying to pass this nonsense off as Christianity. There is nothing Christian about judging one another."

His post has garnered 48,000 likes.
