Tyson Fury says God wants him to be champion

by Hannah Tooley

The devout-Christian says that God will be on his side when he steps into the ring at the Esprit Arena.

The two will be battling it out to be the world heavyweight king.

"I'm a big believer in destiny because I believe in God and I'm sure he wants me to become world heavyweight champion," he said in the Daily Mirror.

The unbeaten challenger said: "It's my destiny. This is meant to be.

"I'm feeling on top of the world. This is my time to shine."

The pair will spar on Saturday for the title.

27-year-old Fury went on: "This is the culmination of a journey, which started for me way back in 2008 when I turned pro. Then I was a youngster with a mop of curly hair like a woollen blanket.

"I'll have fans on the edge of their seats on Saturday and it will be my glory night."

He said he thinks Saturday will mark the beginning of his time as champion: "My victory will be the beginning of a new journey for me.

"It will be a new chapter, a new beginning for world heavyweight championship boxing."
