The charity, alongside Citizens UK, will host a summit on Saturday giving people a chance to reflect on the UK's response to the crisis and urge their politicians to do more.
Alex Jones from Christian Aid told Premier that no one should be turned away.
He said: "Everyone deserves a safe place to call home, we're all created in the image of God and we feel very strongly that Christians shouldn't be the one to be saying there's no room in the inn.
"We believe the UK can do more to host more refugees."
Hundreds of supporters from across the country are expected to attend the Welcome Summit in Birmingham, which takes place one year on from the death of three-year-old Syrian, Alan Kurdi.
Photos of the toddler's body washed up on the beach shocked the world.
Alex Jones said: "The six richest nations host less than nine per cent of the world's refugees, and the vast majority of the global refugees are hosted by poor countries, this is an outrageous situation and we need to challenge and change that story, to push our politicians and media to encourage the UK to do more, wanting to build welcome, rather than building walls."
He told Premier Christians can pray and take practical steps to make the world a kinder place.
"The natural response is to come and pray, and if you don't have the words and don't have the right things then even the groans of distress in this situation are heard," he said.
"We should be calling for the UK to be a more welcoming place, we should be asking our politicians to do more and react better."
