White House releases footage of President Barack Obama and Bear Grylls' Alaskan adventure

It comes days after Bear Grylls tweeted a picture of the two men praying before setting off on their adventure in Alaska to highlight President Obama's agenda for action on climate change.

Grylls cooked the fish on a camp fire before both men tucked into the salmon for lunch as part of footage recorded for the Chief Scout's US show special "Running Wild with Bear Grylls" and President Obama in Alaska.

"I've seen of some of the things Bear eats and it's got to be something that doesn't still have its legs and eyes on it. I want it to be not too recognisable," joked the president before he's seen digging in.

Speaking afterwards President Obama said: "Bear's a mediocre cook, but the fact that we ate something recognizable was encouraging. Now, the fact that he told me this was a leftover fish from a bear, I don't know if that was necessary. He could have just left that out."
