Writer in hiding after 'God sends a black husband' blog

by Antony Bushfield

Gaye Clark wrote about her struggle to accept her white daughter who had married a black man.

"This white, 53-year-old mother hadn't counted on God sending an African American with dreads named Glenn," she said on The Gospel Coalition website.

It is believed death threats have come from white supremacists angry at the interracial union of her daughter Georgia.

Clark also requested the piece be taken down and has since tweeted: "I am profoundly grieved over the hurt and harm it has caused. Would covet prayers."

Her piece had gone viral before it was taken down and had led to intense debate on social media.

She wrote: "To the parent like me who never envisioned her daughter in an interracial marriage, here are eight things to remember when your white daughter brings a black man home for dinner."

The blog went on to explain how parents should "Remember theology" and "remember no Christian marriage is promised a trial-free life".

She has received several threatening Twitter messages.
