2006 CBC Media Awards - Premier.tv gets the Gold!

Premier.tv has been awarded a top accolade in the 2006 CBC Media Awards, winning the Gold Award for the most innovative Christian podcast/webcast.

Justin Brierley - Silver Award for 'God on His Feet' on Gun Crime in the Category of Best Christian Radio Programme.

Sandford St. Martin Trust - Promoting Excellence in Religious Broadcasting

The Sandford St. Martin Trust has awarded Premier Radio first prize for promoting excellence in religious broadcasting. The winning programme, entitled The Rainbow Through the Rain told the story of Geoffrey Mowat and his experiences as a prisoner of the Japanese in the Second World War, which influenced his decision to become a Priest.

Broadcast on the 60th anniversary of VJ day, The Rainbow Through the Rain was produced by Premier Radio’s breakfast Presenter and Geoffrey Mowat’s grandson, Justin Brierley.

The Sandford St. Martin Trust judges, chaired by Baroness Neuberger were unanimous in voting for The Rainbow Through the Rain, describing the programme as having a 'powerful and compelling narrative.’

One of the rising stars of Christian broadcasting, Brierley has previously won awards for his work at Premier from The Andrew Cross Awards, The Christian Broadcasting Council, The Jerusalem Trust and from The New York Festival Awards for his acclaimed programme 'God on His feet’ - a Christian responses to gun-violence on the streets of London.

Jerusalem Awards for U.K Radio 2005

Premier won two categories and were shortlisted for a further two at this prestigious award ceremony.

Best Young Broadcaster - Justin Brierley

Best Music Category - Hip Rock U.K with Dave Rose and Bridgette Tetteh

Short-listed entries were Premier’s 'The Passion of the Christ’ in the Perspectives and Features category and Premier’s website in the New Media category.

The Andrew Cross (CACLB) Awards 2004

Website - Commendation

"Revival 2003" working with the Black Police Association to promote a campaign for peace on the streets of London by tackling gun crime.

The judges said "A positive use of the station, involving community and broadcaster - very much the model for local public service and commercial stations to follow."

Best Young Talent - Trevor Smith

At this year's UK Andrew Cross awards, Premier Radio Commercial producer Trevor Smith won the prestigious Best Young Talent award, in recognition of his imaginative work across a range of commercials and radio programmes.

Commendation - Christmas reflection commercials

At the same ceremony, Trevor and his colleague Martyn Boydon were commended for their popular 'True Spirit of Christmas' reflections.

The New York Festivals 2002

Silver World Medal - Peace and human rights award

The New York festivals have been dubbed 'The Oscars of the radio world'. Again, multiple award-winners Martyn Boydon and Trevor Smith were rewarded with a silver medal for their dramatic Release International commercial 'Just Imagine.'

Bronze World Medal - Station promotion

Martyn and Trevor were again commended for their Christmas reflections with this prestigious award.

Focus on the Family Special Award 2002

Station of the Year

Premier's managing director Peter Kerridge (pictured right) was delighted to receive a special 'Station of the year award' from popular American ministry Focus on the Family.

The glass plaque was presented to Peter during a recent visit to the US by a senior representative of the organisation, which is headed by popular writer, speaker and broadcaster Dr James Dobson.

Dr Dobson's Focus on the Family radio programme can be heard every weekday on Premier Christian Radio, at 7am.
