Shane Lynch

Shane Lynch from boy band Boyzone tells his testimony

You might be sick of hearing the age-old cliché that “money doesn’t buy happiness”. Whenever it’s mentioned are you switching off? You’ve already got this one down, you tell yourself, you understood this a long time ago, right?

But for most of us the penny hasn’t quite dropped. Our culture is saturated with the quest for, more, bigger and better. Secretly there’s a part of us that admits that life might be that bit nicer with the holiday home in Barbados, the garage for three sports cars and maybe a personal cook too.

But for one man the lesson that all this truly doesn’t equate to happiness, has been learnt – the hard way.

Plucked from the back waters of Ireland and launched into one of the most successful boy bands in pop history, Shane Lynch of Boyzone had it all.

From being kicked out of school at 14 and launched into the fame game, he travelled the world touring, owned the Porsche, the house and was at the height of his success with the band, but something still didn’t fit.

Life was a battle of self-destructive behaviour. Most famously the rebellious pop star launched into a drunken rant live on MTV against rumours that the band were splitting much to the horror of his other band mates, Ronan Keating, Stephen Gately, Mikey Graham and Keith Duffy.

Shane decided that something had to be done to fill his unhappiness and embarked on a mission to find something more. But it all went horribly wrong. With a broken cross tattooed across his heart and a hatred of anything to do with God he began to pursue the occult.

Depression began to take hold of Shane and anger consumed him. His marriage collapsed and he even began have visitations from demons. Somehow he had to find a way out of this darkness.

Watch Shane’s amazing story and how God flipped this Boyzone singer’s life upside down.
