Faith without Fear

Christians in Orissa state, India, are struggling to live out their faith without fear. Their situation is desperate. You can help them today.

In August 2008, a wave of communal violence engulfed Christians in Orissa. Three hundred villages and four thousand homes were destroyed. Over one hundred and twenty people lost their lives and fifty thousand were driven from their homes.

A year on, more than four thousand Christians are still displaced, many of them continue to face hardship and persecution. They cannot return home because they fear for their lives or fear the threat of forced conversion. Their situation is desperate.

We are calling on 50,000 UK citizens, one for each Christian who has suffered, to contact the Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, and urge him to help our Christian brothers and sisters safely return home and practise their faith without fear.

Using the form here, you can email the Indian government to ask that perpetrators of the violence are swiftly tried in court, witnesses protected, victims adequately compensated and to request that peace and reconciliation are pursued as a matter of priority.

Your email will be sent to the Prime Minister of India and copied to the Chief Minister of Orissa, Shri. Naveen Patnaik.

The Christians in Orissa have no voice, you can speak up on their behalf. Please send your message of change now.
