- Not For Sale

At the recent February Synod the Church of England agreed to back plans to put pressure on the Government over sex trafficking and condemned what is the fastest growing illegal trade.
But the situation cannot change without your support. As Government legislation comes before the House of Commons this coming month have your voice heard and lobby your local MP.

If the government is to stop and take notice your support is needed. To encourage MPs to tackle the issue of trafficking in 2008 Premier launched the Not For Sale Campaign.
When Not For Sale launched we asked you to encourage newspapers to pull the advertisements that fuel the demand for the sexual slavery of so many innocent women.
Newspapers are feeling the pressure beginning to eliminate those adverts. Home Secretary Jacqui Smith also announced that the Government intends to introduce a law that will make it illegal to purchase sex from a victim of trafficking. And we are asked for you to lobby your MP to encourage them to draft making it illegal to buy sex in any context into the new legislation.
Legislation on sex trafficking is now being drafted. This is our moment to stand up as a Christian community to help set these young women free... to stand as one against this modern form of slavery and say, “Young women in the UK are Not For Sale!”
