Pope reads out news on Italian television

Pope Benedict plans to read out the Bible on Italian television.

A state-run programme's due to run a series of the readings from October.

The Pontiff's expected to be the first person to narrate - with the story of creation from Genesis.

It's suggested he'll favour a live reading from the Vatican.
