7. G8 countries want to halve emissions by 2050

A statement from G8 leaders on plans to fight climate change are being welcomed in Europe.

The group, which is meeting in Japan, says it aims to adopt a goal of at least halving greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

But US President, George Bush, will not agree to any binding targets unless China and India cut their emissions.

Andy Lester, Conservation Director of A Rocha UK, tells Premier he is not impressed with President Bush's position.
