The latest G8 summit in Tokyo came to an end late last night.

Leaders of the most industrialised nations in the world are claiming they'd made progress on poverty and climate change.

But critics say countries are still lagging behind on poverty promises they made three years ago.

Stephen Timms is the Labour MP for East Ham and Minister for Employment and Welfare Reform.

He explains to Premier the importance of the gathering.
