7. Unemployment figures look grim

With the cost of living soaring and the house market collapsing, now bad news on the number of people out of work.

Unemployment's jumped by twelve-thousand.

The increase covers a three month period up to May.

The jobless total now stands at one-point-six-two million.

And those claiming Jobseeker's Allowance has soared by fifteen-thousand in June - the biggest monthly rise in fifteen years.
