Zimbabwe's ruling party and two factions of the opposition are beginning formal talks to try to solve the country's political crisis.

Representatives of the Movement for Democratic Change will fly to South Africa for the negotiations.

The meeting comes a day after the party agreed to two weeks of talks with President Robert Mugabe's ruling ZANU-PF.
