Bishops discusses Lords reform

Last updated April 13, 2010 16:52

The latest Bishop to take his place in the House of Lords has joined the debate over whether the Church of England's top leaders should have a place reserved for them.

Campaigners from both inside and outside the church say it's outdated and unfair for the 26 Anglican Clerics to sit in the Lords.

The Rt Revd Michael Perham is the Bishop of Gloucester and made his maiden speech this week.

He tells Premier he didn't consider turning the position down.
