World Vision

Give the gift of hope in 2008 by sponsoring a child with World Vision

Premier Radio & World Vision are working together again in 2008 to make a real difference to the lives of some of the world's poorest children.

Premier Radio listeners who sponsor a child with World Vision will already be seeing the changes that are happening in the community where their sponsored child lives.

Child Sponsorship gives a real & personal connection, sponsors can send & receive letters, drawings & cards from the child they sponsor. Project updates & a new photograph each year of the child you sponsor, also give a personal insight into how your sponsorship is changing lives.

Pip from Christchurch Methodist & United Reformed Church sponsors 8 year old Amdela who lives in Ethiopia.

Over the last 2 years Pip has received letters and cards from Amdela & through these she has learnt what life is like for Amdela and how her sponsorship is beginning to make a real difference for him & his community.

Imagine Pip's delight when her church planned a visit to World Vision's work in Ethiopia, giving her the amazing opportunity to meet her sponsored child.

Here are extracts from Pip's Ethiopian diary...

15th Nov 2007

I have been very excited about meeting Amdela since I found out it would be possible a few months ago.

I sponsored Amdela in the first place as I wanted to do something personal and long term to support the community of Lideta and what better way than to help give a child the opportunity of getting an education that he otherwise may not have had.

Other people from my church are also sponsoring children, which means more and more families within the community are receiving support.

Now that meeting Amdela is only two days away I feel a bit nervous about it as well as excited...

17th Nov 2007

The most amazing day!

I met Amdela with his mother among all the other sponsored children. It was so special to meet him. He had drawn me a really great picture...

All the children were taken to sit on chairs outside so I could speak to them; Amdela sat right next to me. He was very quiet but was a bit of a cool dude!

Later.....I sorted through the photographs of the children, I looked at the drawings the children had done and got really emotional when I held Amdela's.

I can't quite believe what happened today, to have the chance to meet children like that.It was awesome.

God bless all of the children and their parents!

You may never get to meet the child you sponsor but the personal connection of Child Sponsorship means you will be able to see how your support is really helping to change lives.

For just 60p a day you can help provide clean water, basic healthcare, nutritious food & education for a child and their community.

Having seen Child Sponsorship in action for herself Pip summed up what she would say to others about sponsoring a child.

"I would say don't think about it, don't hesitate! ...when you actually see the people who are benefiting. It's just so real and brilliant!"

So please choose to make a difference that will last a lifetime & sponsor a child now or call World Vision on 0800 085 48 44.
