Simon spent nearly 20 years in Technical Research and Development for the BBC, working on standards and technologies such as RDS (Radio Data System) and DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting).

He then joined NDS in 1999 where he is now Director of Research and Collaboration. Simon has had a long interest in radio, managing a considerable number of special event stations over the years. These included Easter People Radio with Rob Frost and the top earning station in Wimbledon for both years of the Radio Cracker project. He also supported Rob Frost during the first years of his Sunday night radio programme.
