Tell us something about yourself we wouldn’t expect?

I am a passionate supporter of Carlisle United and lifelong fan of Paul Simon, Mark Knopfler, and Barbara Dickson. I am happiest on the hills of the Lake District or walking on the Devon coast, with an old parish church to visit afterwards.

Why did you decide to become a trustee/ director for Premier?

Peter Kerridge asked me. I am a Christian and have had a long and varied career in broadcasting. I would get bored in semi-retirement.

Why is this important to you?

I admire Premier and wish to see it continue to grow. I doubt if its work has ever been more needed.

What would you want with you if stranded on a desert Island?

My father (died 2005). He was a very good carpenter and had been in the Royal Navy.

If you could invite anyone (past/present) to be at your dinner party, who would you choose and why?

Jesus- to find out whether he thinks the New Testament is totally reliable!

What is your favourite book?

Book: Jesus the Jew by Prof. Geza Vermes.
