Christmas Carol Train

Every year, for one night only, the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway operates a Christmas Carol Train.

On board are carols singers, the Hall Royd Band, Canon Bruce Grainger, Chaplain at Bradford Cathedral and more than 270 passengers, all ready for a good sing.

The train travels from Oxenhope to Keighley along the line made famous by the classic 1970’s film The Railway Children.

At each station along the way the train is welcomed by local churches that come out to join them for carols, readings and prayers.

Premier’s Northern Correspondent Ian Britton travelled on the train to bring us this seasonal story.
