One Life Mission

Bishops from The Church of England are now in the Southwell and Nottingham Diocese for the ‘OneLIFE’ Mission – the latest Northern Bishops’ Mission led by the Archbishop of York, the Most Rev. and Rt Hon. Dr John Sentamu.

Launched in 2015 by the Archbishop of York, the first Northern Bishops’ Mission was in Sheffield Diocese.

The Archbishop is the driving force behind these Missions and is being supported by Bishop Paul, Bishop Tony and 12 other Bishops who each bring a mission team to then work alongside local teams to spread the Gospel.

This latest four-day mission officially began at Mansfield Town FC on Thursday, September 12 with a commissioning service led by the Archbishop.

More than 400 events have been planned to engage with people who do not normally go to church, from film shows and picnics, to gospel concerts and pub visits.

Premier’s Northern Correspondent Ian Britton went along to yesterday's launch event at Mansfield Town Football Club and you can click to listen to his report below.
