Skipton Churches United In Mission

All the churches in the North Yorkshire town of Skipton came together on Sunday evening (29/1/2018) at St Andrew's Church to launch a missional project around the hashtag “Do You Know Him”

Going forward they are all going to spend the next two months exploring Jesus through various services, prayers and outreach events.

The Revd Phil Burns, told Premier: “Every Saturday we will have a #doyouknowHim? stand outside in Skipton to engage people in conversation about Jesus.

“In the churches, we will also be following a 10-week sermon series on Jesus.  This includes inter-church small groups too. We are also having some joint prayer events.”

The initiative came about following last year’s Easter service planning which developed into a 10-week sermon and small group series, followed by a number of the town’s churches.

The guest speaker at the launch service was Bishop Nick Baines, Bishop of Leeds, who told Premier after the service “he was very encouraged.”

Premier’s Northern Correspondent Ian Britton sent this report from Skipton
