Walking draws me closer to God

Local Methodist Minister Richard Bainbridge loves walking and loves Northumberland in particular.

He was born and brought up in Teesdale and for many years was a farmer in Eggleston, County Durham before becoming a Methodist minister.

Richard told Premier’s Ian Britton he feels a sense of closeness to God when he is out walking in Northumberland. “Just in having the space to be myself, the space to think, to reflect and the space to pray as well…That’s what draws me draws me closer to God and that’s why I find a sense of spirituality in my walking in Northumberland.”
