Windrush 70th Anniversary

70th Anniversary has been an important moment to remember the legacy of those who arrived from the Caribbean to assist with post-war reconstruction in the UK.

In the years that followed they helped to shape British social, cultural and political life.

For the predominantly Afro-Caribbean congregation of Holy Trinity Church, Birmingham, they never forget the debt they owe to those who came before.

This year the Reverend Canon Eve Pitts invited Premier Christian Radio to their Windrush Remembrance Service which paid tribute to the Windrush generation by commemorating their struggles and achievements that she says “for too long have been overlooked or simply ignored.”
