How to leave a legacy to Premier

Leaving a legacy to Premier is very straightforward. The three main ways in which you can leave a gift to Premier are explained below with some suggested wording that you might like to use.

Residuary legacy

This is when you leave to Premier all or some of what remains of your estate after all other bequests and expenses have been deducted. This type of gift ensures that those you care for are provided for, and has the additional benefit of keeping pace with inflation. Suggested wording:

I give all (or a __% share) of the residue of my estate, after payment of my debts, funeral expenses and inheritance tax liability, to Premier Christian Media Trust, 22 Chapter Street, London, SW1P 4NP (registered charity number 287610) for its general charitable purposes. I direct that the receipt of the Finance Officer or duly authorised officer shall be a good discharge to my executors.

Pecuniary legacy

This is when you leave a gift of a specified amount of money to Premier, for instance £5,000. This type of gift may be devalued by inflation. Suggested wording:

I give to the Premier Christian Media Trust, 22 Chapter Street, London, SW1P 4NP (registered charity number 287610) the sum of [amount in figures and words] for its general charitable purposes, and I direct that the receipt of the Finance Officer or duly authorised officer shall be a good discharge to my executors.

Specific legacy

This is when you leave a gift of a specific item of property to Premier. This item must be clearly identified within your will and your solicitor will be able to advise you on the appropriate wording. Suggested wording:

I give to the Premier Christian Media Trust, 22 Chapter Street, London, SW1P 4NP (registered charity number 287610) [description of property] for its general charitable purposes, and I direct that the receipt of the Finance Officer or duly authorised officer shall be a good discharge to my executors.

If you do decide to include Premier in your Will, we would like to thank you for your special gift - each one is amazing.

If you tell us your intentions that would be great but such a notification is, we know, not binding!
