Christians are being urged to pray after last week's deadly Grenfell Tower fire, as left wing protestors plan to hold a 'day of rage' on Wednesday.

A day of prayer and fasting has been organised by London City Mission and the Message Trust after the disaster last Wednesday, which left at least 79 people dead.

Graham Miller, Chief Executive of London City Mission said: "We grieve for those who were caught up in this latest attack, who've been injured or lost a loved one, and we pray for peace and reconciliation, and for good news and hope to spread across London.

"As we are shaken as a nation and a city, we pray that we would be shaken to our knees and call out to the Lord for our city."

The initiative will see Kensington Temple open its door between 12pm and 9pm (with a worship event beginning at 7pm). It will also remember recent attacks in Finsbury Park and on London Bridge.

Believers are being urged to pray for peace, reconciliation, the spreading of the good news across London and for God to bring "comfort and healing to those who have been impacted."

Another prayer suggestion said: "Give thanks for our leaders, our security forces and our emergency services. Pray for wisdom and strength in their decisions and actions in the days, weeks, months and years ahead."

Movement for Justice By Any Means Necessary‎

Meanwhile, a march has been organised by Movement for Justice By Any Means Necessary to voice anger over the blaze at Grenfell Tower.

Taking place from Shepherds Bush Green to Downing Street, the demonstration is also coinciding with the Queen's Speech, which will set out Theresa May's plans for the next Parliament.
