Justin Welby to visit Northern Ireland

Justin Welby will be attending an Evensong at at St Patrick's Cathedral during the trip which it's thought will be his first.

The Dean of Armagh, The Very Revd Gregory Dunstan, told the Ulster Gazette: "Since his appointment to Canterbury, Archbishop Welby has become known for thoughtful and clear-sighted Christian leadership, both in the Church of England and in the world-wide Anglican Communion.

"He comes to Armagh as the guest of the Archbishop, Dr Richard Clarke. His visit, however, is to Ireland as a Province of the Anglican Communion, to the Church of Ireland, and to the City and Diocese of Armagh, with its inheritance from St Patrick.

"We look forward very much to welcoming him to the Cathedral."
