Man charged with British Christian's murder in Jerusalem

Prosecutors say Hannah Bladon, a 20 year old Bible studies student from the University of Birmingham, was stabbed in the back multiple times while travelling on a tram.

Ms Bladon, who was in the city at part of an exchange programme with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, was treated by paramedics at the scene and was rushed to hospital but later died.

57 year old Jamil Tamimi is accused of buying a seven-inch knife prior to the incident, before stabbing Ms Bladon in the back, arm and chest.

The attack also left a pregnant woman and a 50 year old man injured, as the busy tram Ms Bladon was travelling in suddenly ground to a halt.

According to her family, Ms Bladon had been taking part in an archaeological dig that morning. They described her as a "talented musician" and "enthusiastic rugby player".
