Number of female clergy in the CofE on the rise

The number of female clergy in the Church of England has risen by forty one per cent in the past decade.

Women now make up a fifth of serving vicars. While the number of those ordained has remained pretty much the same the number of under thirties entering the ministry has increased.

Dr Bev Botting is the Head of Research and Statistics for the Archbishops Council. She tells Premier another big change is the number of unpaid clergy.
