Report into England and Wales Catholic sex abuse

The latest report from the National Catholic Safeguarding Commission also reveals the number of allegations of abuse increased last year.

It also showed 126 parishes don't have someone providing support for abuse victims compared to just 88 last year.

Danny Sullivan, from the organisation, told Premier's News Hour improvements are being made within the catholic church: "I think restoring trust will take a significant period of time.

"I think because initially when allegations came forward a significant number of victims and survivors weren't listened to or weren't believed."

Mr Sullivan said the Pope's recent meeting with six survivors would probably not be the last and that the church was committed to change.
