Countryside Community Church (UCC), and The American Muslim Institute (AMI) will build their own place of worship near Temple Israel on a 35 acre piece of land in the city of Omaha.
The property will also have a shared Tri-Faith centre.
According to the Tri-Faith Initiative website, the vision of the project is to: "Create an environment that will cultivate interfaith cooperation, enhance human harmony, live a mutual heritage of belief, and worship One Almighty and loving God."

The idea of the initiative came about when the Temple Israel had outgrown its premises and wanted find good new neighbours.
A conversation began between Temple Israel's and leaders of Omaha's Muslim community about their shared values and commitment to interfaith work.
The website states: "The conversations gave birth to an unlikely dream: wouldn't it be remarkable if three Abrahamic faiths could partner to build three houses of worship on adjacent properties? They began looking for a Christian church that might also share this dream."

The leaders of the church, synagogue and mosque created the Tri-Faith Initiative in 2006 and purchased land for the facilities in 2011.
Temple Israel completed construction on their new synagogue in 2013 with more than 750 families in attendance at its services.
UCC celebrated its ground-breaking on Monday and hopes to be up and running in 2018.
