Evangelist Franklin Graham has asked people on twitter to pray for Pat Robertson, the founder of the Christian broadcasting network CBN in America.

Pat Robertson is a conservative televangelist, former church minister, best know for being a Christian talk-show host.

Robertson had a stroke on Friday, which was recognised by a family member, and he was rushed to the nearest stroke centre.

Franklin Graham has wished him well in a tweet:

CBN said in a statement that he had an embolic stroke and that after being given tPA, a drug that breaks down blood clots, he "was awake and responsive and able to move all of his limbs."

They added that: "He should be discharged from the hospital on Monday at the latest."
