I Want To Be A Nun will feature the experiences of five young woman who adjust to their new lives in the vocation.
The producers from Mediaset Spain say it will give an insight into an "unknown world".
The women chosen to take part have been sent to convents in Madrid, Granada and Alicante and will spend six weeks doing the day to day duties of a nun.
Producer Mariano Blanco says it will give more information on the "rarely seen" lifestyle.
At the end of the series the women will be given the choice to remain in the convent or leave and continue their faith as a layperson.
The show has been commissioned amid growing numbers of nuns appearing on TV.
