The star posted a picture on Instagram with the caption: "Depression sucks, but my faith in God and my commitment to doing the work to stay well is my way out!"
The 38-year-old Destiny Child singer, who has also released gospel albums, detailed her battle with mental health in a separate Instagram post earlier this month.
"For years I have dedicated myself to increasing awareness of mental health and empowering people to recognize when it's time to seek help, support and guidance from those that love and care for your wellbeing," Williams wrote.
"I recently listened to the same advice I have given to thousands around the world and sought help from a great team of healthcare professionals."
After receiving messages of support from fellow musicians, Williams thanked her fans from all over the world for their display of concern.
Speaking directly to people who may also be suffering from depression, she advised: "You have to do the work even when you're tired and feel the heaviness. Take one step at a time! Don't overwhelm yourself.
"If you can just get up out the bed and brush your teeth and shower... do it! For people dealing with depression, that is a huge step!"
