Nigerian pastor TB Joshua expects thousands to hear him speak in Nazareth this weekend

by Cara Bentley

T.B. Joshua is the founder of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), an international ministry based in Lagos, Nigeria.

He is also the executive producer of Emmanuel TV, a Christian YouTube channel that has over 1 million subscribers.

Joshua has hosted high-profile international events in the past, mostly in Latin America and Asia but this will be his first meeting in the Middle East, where he will speak at the Amphitheatre of Mount Precipice.

The event starts on Sunday and continues to Monday, requiring people to register for free and tick the reason they are coming - 'Healing, Deliverance, Breakthrough or Other'.

Also a controversial figure, Joshua is associated with elaborate prophecies, healings and 'deliverances' of those he says are demon-possessed.

The church said in a statement: "Nazareth is a humble place with people who live at peace. Our goal is to love one another just as ourselves, so everyone is welcome to attend our meetings.

"We hope to be a blessing to anyone who interacts with us regardless of their religious or political background."

At his ministry's event in Sheffiled earlier this month the FlyDSA Arena was said to be filled to capacity even though Joshua was not there.

Joshua has previously visited Israel on numerous occasions, meeting Israeli dignitaries such as Minister of Tourism Yariv Lenin, Minister of Communications Ayoob Kara and Rabbi David Lau, the Chief Rabbi of Israel.

The event will be broadcast on Emmanuel TV, as well as livestreamed to 1,300,000 YouTube subscribers and 3,500,000 Facebook followers.
