The shootings in Texas and Ohio over the weekend, killing 31 people and injuring many more, took place within 24 hours and took the number of mass shootings in America to 251 this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
That is more shootings than we have had days in 2019.
President Trump has blamed the latest mass shootings on video games, mental illness and social media.
The US president's urging politicians to work together on tougher gun laws, but has not yet announced any proposals.
He wants mass-killers to be put to death, and changes to mental health laws to identify people who may commit acts of violence.
After the shootings, the president called for the nation to "condemn racism, bigotry and white supremacy" and labelled the weekend's attacks as "evil".
Prior to beginning his rampage, the Texas gunman posted an online manifesto ranting against immigrants and making other racist remarks.
Bishop Mark Seitz of El Paso, Texas said it was "appropriate" for President Donald Trump to call out the white supremacy that motivated the Texas shooting, but said the president also has questions to answer.
Bishop Mark said that the president should "examine himself and the kind of rhetoric that contributes to the hatred of a whole group of people."
Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller in San Antonio also asked the President to start listening and called for greater gun control.
He tweeted: "President stop hate and racism, starting with yourself." He said: "Gun control is urgent, the president needs to listen and more lives have been wasted in vain and families are suffering."
