Embrace the Middle East says it's raised £130,000 so far, with the first tranche of money sent this week to fund essential medicines and medical supplies, fuel, food and blankets in Gaza.
Jeremy Moodey, CEO of Embrace the Middle East, said: "We are so pleased that we have been able to respond quickly to the requests for support from our hard-pressed Christian partners inside Gaza. The Christian community is tiny, less than 0.1% of the population, yet its vibrant social witness through schools, hospitals, clinics and other projects means that it punches way above its weight. This is about quality not quantity, and the need for an effective Christian witness in Gaza has never been greater."
The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), an umbrella organisation which brings together 13 UK aid charities to deal with international crises has also scaled up its response to the "humanitarian emergency" and said its member charities were "rapidly increasing" the assistance provided during the current ceasefire.
It comes as the government is expected to announce later it'll put restrictions on the export of arms to Israel, as its ceasefire with Hamas in Gaza nears an end.
Israel and Hamas remain at odds over an extension of the three-day truce in Gaza, which is due to end early on Friday morning.
Israel's conditionally offered to extend the ceasefire, but Hamas says no agreement has been reached.
The Deputy Prime Minister has indicated that if the current ceasefire in Gaza breaks down, arms exports from the UK to Israel should be suspended, Nick Clegg said: "if this current truce which is still holding; just, in Gaza were to end and there was to be military conflict again we would need to immediately suspend any existing licences which have already been issued"
Foreign Office Minister Baroness Warsi resigned over David Cameron's failure to take a harder line against Israel over the month-long conflict, which has seen nearly 2,000 Palestinians, mainly civilians and 67 Israelis, mainly soldiers, killed in the conflict.
Britain has signed off on exports from 130 defence manufacturers to Israel since 2010 for items such as drone parts, ammunition and armoured vehicles.
