Uganda Christian beaten by Muslim mob

by Aaron James

According to Morning Star News, Malik Higenyi, 30, became a Christian in April this year along with his wife and two children in Bufuja village in Butaleja District, which is in eastern Uganda.

He declared his faith publicly in church last month and then received death threats via text from local Muslims.

According to the Christian news agency they said: "Be informed that you risk your life and that of [your] entire family if you happen to come back to your house.

"We curse you and your family. You are an apostate according to Islamic law, and you deserve to die."

A mob then attacked Higenyi at his house with a blunt object. He woke up in a medical center with head and hand injuries, and later learned his corn crops were destroyed.

Higenyi and his family are now in hiding because his relatives have rejected them for leaving Islam, and their house is no longer safe.
